Looking for Munch. In this study the painter is trying to capture the atmosphere of the works of Norwegian painter Edward Munch. This small, yet beautifully crafted study sacrifices descriptive power to give way to mood and atmosphere. There is a little figure sitting in the left corner that can barely be distinguished as it is achieved just by a few brushstrokes and it ultimately blends in with the rest of the environment. The painting has a relaxing mood and its expressionistic brushwork captures the imagination and makes it anew every time the viewer looks at it.
