This painting was inspired by a real life event in which i found this died up and aged flip flop sticking up out of the sand when i was cleaning up the beach on the Colorado river that runs through a camp in Needles California. This flip flop inspired me to paint it due to its pure uniqueness. As well as holding much mystery to the shoe itself as who's it may have belonged to or how long its been lost, it also is a captivating image as we usually have never seen a flip flop so weathered and old as this one. An artistic, yet science like observation. Hope you enjoy.
