Lotus is watered with tears Painting

In April 2015, I was buried under an old building that collapsed in Patan Durbar Square, one of the old mediaval squares of the Kathmandu Valley. I was buried for half hour before a crowd of men pulled me out from beneath the beams of heavy wood and brick. My ankle was mangled and my arm broken in the process. This first painting I made after that event tries to capture those moments--its an uneven piece, but I like it because it seems to capture the inchoate nature of that moment.
