About The Artwork
“Louis-Philippe” was a small study made in preparation for the much larger painting entitled “Cependant Voilà,” which can be seen also on this page. This initial study has the disposed self-titled “King of the French” standing with the revolutionary tri-colore flag on a beach by the English Channel. The piece is painted on a canvas board, which in turn has been mounted on same-sized stretched canvas for stability.
