Love in Peñol Painting

When Serrier's father, Ihab, asked to marry Maria (Serrier's mother), he asked her what type of ring would she like as it was a tradition in the US to give a diamond while in Colombia it was an emerald. Maria love for emerald had always been apparent but her practicality was stronger. " Let us use the money to invest in the future of Colombia, rather than just big rock" So when looking for a place to invest they found a charming farm in El Peñol that overlooked "El Peñón de Guatape" also known as "La piedra del Peńol (the rock of peñol). To this day they laugh known Maria got both a farm and a rock.
