About The Artwork

I tried to understand what this feeling might look like on canvas, and what it might feel like to close your eyes and imagine love outside of the physical world. When you encounter it for the first time, love covers us from head to toe, we do not understand what is happening to us, it is like a feeling of weightlessness, shrouded in excitement and confusion, and at the same time bliss and delight, which are told by waves of different shades. She bursts in without knocking and hugs hard, everything changes inside. That light blue quarter represents the first sensation, the familiarity with it, and we do not suspect that the next stage will fill the circle completely in a split second. My first work on composition, the topic of which I got on the entrance exams. For me, the picture is important, as is the feeling itself. I assume that most likely, if I had a different topic, the exam would have failed. The admissions Committee was impressed and gave the highest score. While I was at school, a year before I entered, I had to go to preparatory courses, half a year to the University that I then entered, and another half a year to another one that interested me. Both universities had the same entrance exams: Russian language, literature, painting, and academic drawing. While I went to study at the second University for the other half of the year, the first University added another exam, composition. No one informed me about this, I found out about this exam when I took the last (as I thought at the time) drawing exam. The composition exam was through 2 days. I had no idea how to pass it or what was required of me. When I arrived for the exam, I was confused by the task, which said that you need to choose a maximum of 3 geometric shapes out of 8, and use a maximum of 5 colors in the drawing, each entrant had to choose a card with a theme that needed to be depictedon on a piece of paper. My neighbor got the topic "Speed", the girl behind me got the topic "Annoyance". I came across the theme " Love". The exam was given 4 hours. For the first hour of the exam, I sat and watched the others work on the task. I understood that the only thing that can help me is the minimal use of shapes and colors, so I came up with the idea to take only a circle and use two colors. I approached the Commission and asked the question, if I use pink and red - will it count as 2 colors? Response to me was very encouraging in terms of the task, this was considered to be one color, because pink is a shade of red. The only idea I had was how I could draw "Love" with a circle, and use a few shades of red, from pink to vinous, and add another color - lightblue. After an hour and a half, I passed the completed work, and went home, I thought that I would not even get the minimum score. When I came to look at the General list of results, I didn't see my last name among 250 people. After going to the admissions office and explaining the situation, one of the members of the Commission went with me to the list, saying that this could not be. When he pointed out a separate category of people who scored the highest score, my surprise was boundless. Naturally, I didn't even look there. This list was at the very beginning, and there were a dozen people on it. At that time, none of my future fellow student believed me that I did not study anywhere, and went only a few times to the local drawing circle for children when I was in the 3rd grade. So I surprised the teachers, and my fellow students were perplexed. Today I understand that my heart belongs to paintings, I want to create and bring ideas to life. Initially, I tried to combine my main work and painting in my spare time. But I soon realized that I didn't have much time for family. The moment came when I gave up all my work so that I could hold the brush in my hands as often as possible. The painting is made on linen canvas of Italian production with, acrylic paints Royal Tallens: Amsterdam Expert, covered with water-based acrylic varnish Amsterdam. The edges are painted. There will be two instance in total.
