Low cost, high efficiency romance Painting

I am an abstract painter working primarily in acrylic and oil paints. I use my canvases to explore spatial relations between forms and loose gestures. I use a wide range of instruments for paint application - brush work, rubber nubs, sticks, fingers, and palette-knife – all with the goal of exploring the interplay between complimentary and discordant colors. By making use of a range of contrasting color combinations, I’m able to express the sometimes flowing, sometimes clumsy, rhythms of motion and emotion. I approach painting with the same joy and curiosity as a child offered a new box of crayons and a blank sheet of paper. Facing the open expanse of a new canvas, I let go of rules, deadlines, critical thought and all internal and external censure. By allowing myself to paint with creative abandon, I am able the channel work that is deeply personal and draws on wells of experience and emotion. The resulting canvases reveal artwork that is wildly colorful, filled with movement, humor, and playfulness – a merry playground for the eyes.
