About The Artwork
Washington Park in the city of Pasadena is a lush two level park lighted by moonlight it is a magical garden and in the spring when the sun goes down mid evening it becomes a playground. My goal in this painting was to capture this magic in muted contrasting colors. I played with cool and warm colors allowing the detail to dance in the moonlight. I wanted to set up an ambiance of quite action as the figure leaves the canvas. The composition hints at both an interchangeable entrance and exit for the viewer.
