About The Artwork

This painting depicts preachers dancing around lord Ganesha. He is believed to bring good luck before every new start. Madhubani Art Or Mithila painting is a unique style of Painting, practiced in Mithila state of Nepal and in Bihar state of India. The tradition originated when Raja Janak of Nepal commissioned his local artists to paint murals in his palace in preparations for the marriage of his daughter Sita to Lord Ram. This ancient form of art work has been transferred from generation to generations in a region that has a distinct regional identity and language spanning over thousands of years. The painting is entirely created by hands using fingers, twigs, primitive nib-pens, matchsticks etc, only by using natural colors and pigments sourced from Vegetables, Fruits, flowers and carbon black. The canvas is prepared by the artist himself which has 60% of cloth and 40% of Paper.
