ABOUT THE ARTWORK
An uplifting abstract painting with large flowing brushstrokes and ethereal patterns. Lately I have been intrigued by the relationship between energy and matter. Einstein believed they are different forms of the same thing, mass can be transformed into energy and vice versa. Light is the only visible form of energy so my imagination runs wild, I visualise colourful light bursting out of prisms, sunlight dancing on water and the birth of stars, clouds of dust and gas coming together and then collapsing on themselves to form the first lights in the darkness. For me creating art is all about the process, I love exploring and experimenting with techniques and colours. Following my intuition, trying to let go of a set outcome in favour of discovering what emerges in the moment. This original abstract artwork was painted with excellent quality acrylic paints on lovely thick Fabriano paper 400gsm.

Tam Chianta grew up in South Africa and Mauritius. Her imagination was nurtured from a young age by the many artists in her family and she would often help her mother paint ostrich eggs for her stall in the Cape Town Waterfront. She emigrated to the United Kingdom as a teenager and went on to obtain a BA degree in Fine Art and Art History from Goldsmiths. Tam lives and works in London and her art has appeared in galleries across the capital.
