About The Artwork
I’m inspired by the watercolors of Dean Mitchell and Mary Whyte, both American artists. I like to depict aspects of American culture-it’s values, interests, vocations, avocations, etc. So bacon is a big feature in the American diet and I liked the way this food vendor advertised his bacon menu. The set up is very creative and very visible. Watercolor allows me to paint in a loosely realistic manner and to paint much more rapidly than in the opaque mediums. I hope my viewers will find this humorous and instructive.
