Making my Pointe Painting

This piece is part of a serie called Happy Feet which celebrates my passion for dance and well you know...shoes...Each piece is composed of the painting, the story written on the back and a song . On the back of this one you can read : I know these shoes don’t look like dance shoes...yet they are the shoes that made me find my way back through dance. In those shoes I have admitted to myself that I would not be a regular dancer after all the dreams, that I would not make it as such but that there might be a space for me. I have admitted that I needed the beating of fitness, that my energy required a slightly different pace, that the “one more time “was not the lie I lived by like all dancers but a crude necessity for me, 10 more times more like it. In those shoes I have realised that there is not one way to dance. If there is not a stage for you, then you just have to go and invent one... ....And what do you care how small it is, if you meet your audience, if you meet people for whom you make a difference. There is not one way to dance, just as there is not one way to live, there are many, there is only your way ... On the sides you can read How: Just do it When : 2009 With : Michael Jackson, he changed dance for ever, so I say Beat it...
