ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I painted this painting when I was on a holliday in Ferteventura Spain. I was there on my own. It felt good to have a painting to paint. I made this painting 'en plain air'. I sat on the beach painting this painting for five days in a row. Every afternoon I went back to the same spot to finish my painting. It was a very small but also very pictoresque beach. Ideal for making a painting of in my opinion. I think the image is very romantic. It looks like the man is waiting for something, Also the word 'amor' on the boat gives a hint to what exactly he is waiting for. I think this painting has a nice story to tell for anyone who is (just as I am) a romantic at heart. The sides of the painting are also painted and the painting is signed at the back of the painting. Also there is a string on the back so the painting is easy to hang on a wall.

I like to paint directly 'en plein air'. For me color is the most important. Before form there is color.
