I started this piece 3 months ago by hanging a large piece of unprimed canvas on the wall then I proceeded to apply 2 coats of gesso and left it to dry for a couple of days, then I started to stencil some names of places in Manhattan and apply tape to parts of the canvas in the shape of buildings then applied my premium acrylic paint using brushes and palette knives and I also used acrylic pump markers for more of the detailed work.eventually after about 7/8 weeks I started using acrylic spray paint building up more layers. This painting will be rolled between archival paper, bubble wrap and placed in a heavy duty protective tube then shrink wrapped and will also be signed on the back. This work also comes with verified provenance through Tagsmart which includes a DNA tag in the canvas for identification and digital recording, it also comes with a fully managed and transferable certificate of authenticity.

Paul Ferguson is a Scottish contemporary artist living in Glasgow whose dramatic and intense colours give an ever changing plethora of dynamic tones, just like nature erupting and evoking meditative emotions, with no preparatory concept prior to it being constructed. His paintings have been heavily influenced by Miro and Picasso, and he loves to create using all types of mediums from charcoal to spray paint, lava rock to metal all adding to the texture and final finish of the piece, almost bringing it to life so to speak, in fact all of Paul’s work rewards prolonged staring into the canvas. He is looking to project all his thoughts and feelings at that particular time on to the canvas as strokes and gestures, every one with extreme precision, and that can lead to weeks and months even sometimes years to complete a painting and even then at that late stage he can decide once it’s finished that he is not happy with it and then add and make changes culminating in multiple layers that most of his paintings are renowned for.
