Map Painting

These paintings were made between 2012 and 2013; dealing with the issue of the maps, the first as imaginary places or vaguely reminiscent of successful existing countries. Gradually, I became interested in country borders, so clear on maps, but not in people, and I began to consider how the boundaries of the territory not injured itself, but of people who live in these areas: so the former Yugoslavia with its multiple wounds, the state of Israel and others. The creation of the paintings begin always with the preparation of linen cloth: first cut the fabric and stitch the edges with the sewing machine, then the canvas is treated with rabbit skin glue and leave to dry without being pulled.
