About The Artwork

While in my studio, the wind was howling outside (it has been for two days). Much of my art is based in natural phenomena, defined through abstraction. The abstract nature of the painting leaves its interpretation open to the viewer; some may see hints of a natural landscape with a possible reference to a mountainous horizon line across the upper third of the canvas, while others may perceive it as entirely non-representational. The texture appears to be the result of energetic and expressive brushwork, which adds to the overall effect of movement and spontaneity.

I was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Queens. She lives in Kutztown, PA where she maintains her studio. She graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education. Various employment in the arts after graduation included writing art reviews for the Reading Times, and freelance work for several magazine and publications. She was volunteer with the Reading Redevelopment Authority as a member of their fine arts board, where she selected and recommended public art for the City of Reading. In 1998, she secured a full-time position as Gallery Director/Arts Coordinator at Penn State, Berks County. This opportunity helped develop her own aesthetics as she curated exhibits and developed an acquisition program to increase the college’s permanent collection. She retired after 20 years. Fox spent years working with oil paint, focusing on landscape and still life, until several years ago she changed direction and began working with acrylic and developed her own style of nonobjective paintings. She is represented with the ADC Gallery, Cincinnati, Ohio and ARTHAUS, Allentown, PA Her work is in the collections of: The Lehigh Valley Hospital; Connective Energy, Bethlehem, PA; Bank of Pennsylvania, and The Allentown School District. Many of her paintings are with private collectors, including in Paris, France, London, UK and across the country.
