The painting was painted from a photo of a ship docked in the port of Rostock in 1953. A bit of history! The vessel was built in 1903 as SS GRETE CORDS in Rostock. After World War II, in 1949-1950 it was rebuilt at the STAATSWERFT STRALSUND shipyard. The new name of the merchant ship is SS VORWÄRTS (FORVARD), DSU Berlin. In 1952 it became the property of the new shipping company DSR. 05/15/1955 disabled. This is a small story of a large ship - a steel giant that worked on the sea trade routes. The aesthetics of steamers have a special charm. I, as a fan of ships and boats, wrote this work with pleasure and special inspiration. I would be glad if you like it and buy it. The canvas has a special energy of that time, which was successfully conveyed by means of oil painting.
