About The Artwork
I've always felt a deep pull towards the desert. There's something so powerful and inspiring about being surrounded by absolutely nothing. Being reminded that we're all stuck here on this lonely rock together. This piece is a deviation from my usual abstract expressionist style and is inspired by a photo I took whilst doing a sunrise hike up Mount Masada in the Judean Desert of Israel. The painting itself is done in acrylic and finished in a semi-gloss varnish. It is made to be framed, not stretched.
