‘Maternity visit‘ Painting

Jeroen Verhoeff, born in Vlaardingen, was already really, really wild about animals as a child. He searched for them everywhere and always, despite the limitations of growing up under the fumes of the industry around the port of Rotterdam. His passion for nature has only grown larger ever since and so he now works as a nature painter, a nature filmmaker, a nature guide, a nature writer and a nature expert. Jeroen is quite the odd one out in the world of wildlife art. He doesn’t sketch animals in the wild, nor does he copy photographs, but he imagines made-up events by using self-made model animals for each painting. This requires so much knowledge, creativity, patience and stubbornness that he is probably the only one working in this way worldwide.
