About The Artwork

Oil on canvas (lla prima) I had just finished painting a canvas and my palette was still with many colorful paints. It was late afternoon and the light of day no longer collaborating, and the paint was going to go to waste. It was then that I saw my inspiration for this work. Yes, it was a visa wallpaper on the internet! I got a blank canvas and decided to paint. What struck me, and I should be so inspired that day, it is that it was painted with a thin coat of paint which seem to was printed! Painted alla prima! But it was first and unretouched! With a thin layer of ink oil! The only thing left to do now was a thin yellow coat of paint (veiling) applied over the dark hills in the background to burn this dark, but I had to wait for the oil dry to be able to do this. I really like this work precisely because it was painted first hand, unvarnished and exactly the color I wanted. Again put in the title of this work the same name of a song sung by Enya. It is accompanied by the certificate of authenticity and the authorization of IPHAN (National Historical and Artistic Patrimony Institute) with the authorization to leave Brazil.

I was born in São Paulo in 1964. I am the daughter of Portuguese immigrants. I still remember the first time that I won inks and papers, should have 4 years old and I was fascinated. That was the day I thought, "this is what I want to do ... forever." The mixture of inks and colors fascinated me because I was always very observant and sensitive. I like to experiment various techniques and explore various topics. But is the impressionism that attracts me. I am the daughter of Portuguese immigrants. So I'm Portuguese too. I was born and raised in the period of the military dictatorship in Brazil. When I was a teenager I liked art about human rights and freedom. In 1994, when I went back to painting, Impressionism attracted me. After I almost died, I needed the flowers to heal the wound in my soul. I feel like dipping inside the flowers and staying inside, or lying down and rolling over a flowering field.
