About The Artwork

In this painting, the earth is being consumed by an entity that represents the force of the infinite universe. When we die, the energy that we return to the earth will also return to the universe. This is a depiction of that energy transfer.

Andrea Garcia, most commonly known as ANFREA, is a 21-year-old Mexico-born artist working and residing in Houston TX. Her acrylic paintings captivate viewers with her use of color & reflection of the mystical animals of Mexican folk art known as Alebrejies. Cartoneria (Papier-mâché) is a common technique implemented in her acrylic paintings. As well as an element of ultraviolent. Artist statement: I use painting as a way to express all the discombobulated thoughts that jumble up together like cords in my mind. I have always found it easier to express my emotions through colors. The more colors on a canvas the better it makes me feel. There is no greater gratification to me than small detail paint stokes. Each small paint stroke is a transition of energy from my thoughts to the canvas.
