About The Artwork

The inspiration for this acrylics painting on a cardboard is the future dream city of Lynetteholm which is under construction in order to create a total new city in the habour of Copenhagen, with depositions excavated during the metro project, and with the purpose of funding the ongoing construction work related to Copenhagen metro ring. I suggest that the future metro station on Lynetteholm should be named after the former major of Copenhagen, the social democrate Frank Jensen, who was hit by the mee-to movement. The station could be named 'mee-to metropolis'. Hopefully this new city for 35.000 people can protect the city against climate change and storm surge, and at he same time be a lively community with fine architecture...

Zonation paintings focus on integrating and balancing the elements: lines, tones and colours. I follow an expressionist painting philosophy inspired by Cézanne, Kleé and followers. Motives: Copenhagen cityscapes, croquis, stilleben. Artworks in acrylics, oil, aqua oil, multicoloured chalk, aquarelle and pencils. Artist video: http://vimeo.com/5322606 Artist podcast (Fr): http://podcloud.fr/podcast/choses-a-savoir-art/episode/artiste-a-decouvrir-hans-jorgen-henriksen I use the acronym 'de Hansi' in order to distinct my painting activities from my professional work as a hydrologist. I am a Danish hydrologist currently working as a principal investigator and researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland at Øster Voldgade 10, 1350 in Copenhagen (working in close cooperation with Copenhagen University institute for geology and geography). I am known for my research in the field of hydrogeology, with a focus on groundwater resources and their management, as well as the impact of climate change on groundwater systems. I have published many papers in the international scientific journals, and I am also a member of several scientific organisations.
