About The Artwork
This image depicts an upset nature evolving between light and darkness. The light sounds like a note of hope in the distant horizon while the earth fails to emerge from the darkness, creating an atmosphere conducive to melancholy. This canvas was not easy to paint, doubt has accompanied me throughout the process of creation, I wanted to paint a strong and dark canvas without ending in something sad or even dismal. The atmospheric conditions added technical difficulty, as the heat made the paint dry too fast while I was slowed down by my hesitations. I used a little structure gel for the foreground to mark the material physically on the canvas, the acrylic was applied with a brush with some glazes at sky level. https://youtu.be/zQLfvPw_aL0
