ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The quince was well known in ancient times. The ancient Greeks regarded the quince as a symbol of female fertility. The taste of this fruit became a symbol of marriage. The quince tree is widely distributed throughout the Mediterranean. This quince with ripe fruits coming from my garden. I always take inspiration by summer and sun colors: orange, yellow, green. It’s for me like a symbol of joy and life. I realized this artwork for a local art exhibition that will be held in November 2020 at Giotto's birth house with a special theme 'The Local Flora and Fauna' (near Florence in Tuscany). The artwork is made with watercolour painting on paper 100% cotton.

.smi I was born in a small old town in northwestern Russia. After graduation I moved to Moscow, where worked in advertising as a graphic designer. Increasingly in love with art and painting, I started studying art history at the Moscow University. After several years of life between Moscow and Italy I finally moved at Florence with my family. Now I live and work in Tuscany, at small town near Florence. What I see around inspires me to paint. Tuscan and not only landscapes, architecture, people, psychology, the human body. I like to change the technique and the materials of painting. I usually have some work started and every day I work with what I’m more attracted to. Sometimes the process is rather chaotic.
