About The Artwork

In my art project called „ This situation never happened/ or because I am an Idiot“ I work with enviromental questions and problems which have been caused by us- Humans. My intention is to pick up and highlight the common problems which we are meet with in our everyday life. I am focused on a situations of broken bottles, broken glass in public spaces and in nature where I walk daily. Decomposition of glass lasts at least thousands of years. For me as global and envirometal thinking person who is living in balance with natural principles, it is an urgent matter that i feel the need to point out. We should to take a break, take a breath and finally start thinking what times we are currently living in and who do we think we are?? In this project I am focusing at the point in time when glass bottle become uselless and thrown away by an individum (Idiot). I am trying to catch that moment, delete it as if this deed has never happened. In my paintings I work with real glass pieces that I collected from particular places which I cleaned durring the walks with my dog. I cut, scratched and damaged my paintings with these glass‘ pieces for the purpose of evoking fellings to describe the injuries caused to the nature, animals and of course to us by egoistic people around us.

I studied at Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (Slovakia), Department of Painting and Other media. I finished with MA degree as well. During my art journey I worked as restorer of wall paintings and architecture in Slovakia, Slovak Heritage. In my art practice I work with installations, drawings but primarily with paintings. In my art works I use themes from everyday life, from trivial situations, personal observation and memory traces. I build my paintings basically as an abstract or vague environments. These environments can’t be strictly indentified on first view, they are unknown, vague. Painting have they own roles to allure audience closer, change direction of view and then paintings reveal new insight, tracks and wandering in spaces between. Important is act of painting process and consecutive personal necessity of participating as an accession of the physicality.
