This 60 x 30-inch mixed media painting features scenes from Man’s reach for the sky and stars. Images from the imagination of DaVinci and his airscrew, the Wright Brothers first flight, through the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs up to the recent groundbreaking SpaceX family of rockets. Each element captures a milestone in the history of spaceflight and aviation. Also included are some of the luminaries of the scientific and engineering community, calculations and the tools that made so many of the endeavors possible. The painting is a celebration of Man’s unending desire to explore. Chronicling the achievements of the past 110 years with over 49 differing elements involved, it is the most complex and detailed work ever done by Frank Martin.
