On one of my walks through the Zuiderpark Rotterdam I found the mill in beautiful light from the low sun. It had snowed the day before. The bicycle tracks in the melting snow together with the low sun produced beautiful colors. As the maker of this piece, I strove to capture the serene harmony of the historical and the contemporary. With each stroke of acrylic, I sought to enliven a sense of nostalgia and grounding. The earthy tones and the crisp, cool atmosphere express a tranquil moment in time. This work represents resilience and continuity, offering a space of reflection and calm to any room it adorns.
