About The Artwork

I really enjoy painting my vision of Greek myths. As a child, I loved listening to the stories and myths of different countries. when I was little, and my grandmother read another myth, I imagined whole confusing and strange stories based on what I heard. After all, a myth is not just a fairy tale - it is a story that was passed from mouth to mouth through the centuries. This is a reflection of the understanding of the universe at that time. When the gods talked to people, they were more accessible and similar to people. I became an adult, but I am also worried about ancient legends, where everything in the universe is connected by one thread of presentation. The painting depicts one of the Greek myths. It is part of a triptych consisting of three sisters. In this case, it is the third sister of Anthropos. Ancient Greek Atropos: Ἄτροπος "without turning", in Greek mythology, was one of the three Moirs, goddesses of fate and destiny. Atropos was the oldest of the Three Destinies and was known as "Unyielding" or "Inevitable." It was Atropos who chose the mechanism of death and ended the life of mortals, cutting their threads. She worked with her two sisters, Clotho, who spun the thread, and Lachesis, who measured the length. The painting is painted in a classical manner, this is the final part of the triptych.

I'm Elena Petrik. I live in my made-up world. My world is bright and colorful. Many semi-mythical characters live in it. Sometimes I hear the whisper of a sphinx, sometimes I imagine a mermaid smile. Welcome to my wonderful reality.
