Morning Glory Painting

Morning glories open their petals when the sun rises and closes them at sundown. In the painting “Morning Glory” the sun’s light instead emanates from the center of each flower. The purple flowers are painted in a graphic, almost pop art style, while the tangle of leaves is created by an addition of water to the paint, which allows for the various colors of green to mix in unique and stunning ways. Given the nature of climbing vines, the artist decided to use a long narrow canvas. Depending on the collector’s needs, the painting can be hung either vertically or horizontally.
