In this piece I wanted to convey a peaceful feeling of nature in the early morning hours, when the shapes are not yet clearly defined, and the colors are still muted. In that time of the day there is a lack of illumination because the sun is not up yet, and everything has an intriguing feeling of calm and mystery.

This painting is done with acrylic paints and mediums on canvas. It has a rich texture and a touch of gold highlights. Please refer to the closeup picture. It ships ready to hang, framed in a floater frame with Antique Gold finish. Signed and dated on the back.

Thank you for looking at my art.

The gift of discovering my passion for painting came into my life seemingly out of the blue. I often wondered what it would be like if I could paint. The wise part of me knew that I would never know unless I tried. One day I decided to try myself at painting. Very soon I realized creating art is my passion, my very much needed outlet. Creating art is a great teacher. I keep learning about myself through this journey. My art brings clarity to what I like and don’t like, what I’m afraid of, what motivates me, what helps me to get out of the rut. My work is primarily abstraction. I like to create images that evoke a reaction, a feeling in me. And since human feelings and emotions are universal, the goal is to conduct them to my viewers. I work with colors, shapes, and lines to orchestrate them in a way that is visually appealing to me. My paintings are usually multilayered, with a rich history lurking beneath the surface. As I add and subtract shapes and lines, the painting evolves and develops its own history. I don’t try to envision the end result, in my process I experiment and search for what I want to say until I feel I got there. For me planning a painting doesn’t lend itself to coming up with work that is authentic, spontaneous, fresh, and alive. I wish for my work to be a visual refuge, a moment of wonder for the viewer.
