Mother's Day Bright Wildflower Bouquet on Indigo Framed Painting

I painted this high-contrast bouquet of wildflowers just recently as Mother's Day was approaching and I began thinking about the bright and clumsy bouquets my daughter used to gather in our Southern California neighborhood when she was little. She is much older now, and we haven't lived there for many years, but I enjoyed reminiscing and painting it. It features a riot of daisies and poppies and dahlias and yellow sprouting weedy blossoms. These intensely bright flowers in colors of yellow and pink and orange and red radiate vibrantly against the deep dark indigo of the background. The vase holding the flowers features pink and white gulls and other birds including geese and ducks against a black background and with red details. Patterned leaves in a range of greens round out the rainbow of colors in this playful, crayon-drawn and gouache-painted floral still life. The frame is attached to the board and cannot be removed. The 11x14 painting will ship in glassine and padding in a box.
