Mother. Unfinished Portrait. 2021, canvas \ acrylic, 180 * 160 cm. Last year, like for many, was difficult for me. There were indeed many significant losses, chief among which was the death of my mother. It is clear that the mother figure for everyone is one of the key. I would say that - the mother is the personality that defines our existence. At the same time, for me, the mother, in a sense, has remained an unsolved mystery. Since childhood, I have observed a number of states that I conventionally perceived as her separate personalities observed by me in different periods. I still cannot say with certainty what this person was 100%. Caring and affectionate mother? A hypochondriac frightening with his pain and resentment? A narcissist who plays hide and seek with his sexuality? A philosopher looking for answers? All this and more, but none of them completely. As a result, leaving behind scattered impressions and a flash of awareness, mom left, as each of us leaves. Now I perceive it as a journey of consciousness through states. At the same time, I am aware that all my impressions are only my experience of perception of my mother. This work was given to me quite hard. Such topics touch deep layers of the unconscious. I have passed through certain crossroads of memory, reliving the states of old scenes. Anyway, it was an important experience. The title contains the word - unfinished. This concerns my perception of the possibility of describing something in principle. There is nothing definitive when it comes to our perception. We are always missing something else ..

Edgar Invoker - artist, working at the intersection of abstraction and surrealism, which is true not only in relation to his style of painting, but also relates to the topic of his research - lucid dreaming and change material states of consciousness at the time of the transition between sleep and wakefulness, condition of the paint and the various influences on it. Practicing techniques that promote lucid dreaming, the author fixes his experience and understanding in the form of pictures, which are a manifestation of a certain phenomenon, looking for a way of translation into the material world. Edgar's canvases are the fruit of studying the unconscious on the border with the physical and their subsequent synthesis into artistic forms. Dark symmetries, clearly reminding of Rorschach stains, mirror one another and show us a great lucid dream. The project is based on studying of subconscious mentations and interrelation with archetypical images. My task was to tune to given subject and to design the method of images' creation documenting these processes. Rorschach's theory was taken as the base for this method. In the concept of my project it is studying of interpretation of abstract images' system for concrete periods in the practice of working with subconsciousness. Working directly with material I was studying influence of conscious and subconscious motivations on micro-motions of the body in the process of making abstract forms. Here my research refers to Pollock's concept and his "action painting". In a sense I see the similar concept in ancient rites of prophecy, where the contact between a creator and a Repin State Academic Institute of Painting Sculpture and Achitecturemediator establishes the connection « subconsciousness - body». Translating the common sense into modern language I can say that the painter's (creator's) body passes the impulse to the material exposing inner work of subconsciousness in abstract form. Rorschach noted the connection between dreams and the images seen in the blots. In my case I use my blots to reveal images and to discover the direct connection with dreams. Here my role as a painter and as a mediator is to make a transparent image...like a spiritualist...to reveal it into our world. By creating a system: the paint, body and subconscious mind, I try to go on a layer of abstract perception of psychic phenomena.
