Motherhood of Mary Painting

The winning work in the national sacred art competition - OKKSa 2021 (http://www.okssa.pl/). The work is distinguished by a unique idea and an unusual way of presenting Mary's motherhood. It evokes the emotions of the recipients, referring to the present day and everyday life. A simple, seemingly ordinary scene in which Mary is shown as a mother playing with her child unexpectedly introduces the viewer to the mystery of Redemption through the hopscotch theme. The work also contains an exceptionally subtle story about the relationship between Mary and her Son. The work, made in a simple technique, hides a dialogue of two worlds: the biblical and the present, their mutual penetration and complementation. This extraordinary multidimensionality allows Mary's motherhood to be interpreted on different levels.
