Moving to a new reality; acrylic, canvas; 2024; 95 х 72 inches; 240 х 183 centimeters "Moving to a New Reality" is an expansive and thought-provoking artwork, both in its physical scale and its thematic depth. Measuring an impressive 180 by 240 cm, this monumental piece invites viewers to contemplate the vast and intricate layers of existence within a society. The painting explores the idea that within a single city or social structure, there are multiple parallel realities—distinct worlds that people navigate based on their social status, interests, and communities. In the foreground, a graceful woman in an elegant evening gown stands poised, as if on the threshold of these various realities. Her presence represents the modern woman, navigating the complex intersections of family, work, and societal expectations. The abstract background, rich with swirling patterns and vibrant colors, symbolizes the different realms she might enter—each one offering a unique set of experiences and challenges. This painting is the first in the "Fancy Ladies" series, where women in evening attire are depicted against abstract backgrounds. The series is dedicated to exploring the multifaceted roles that women play in contemporary society, from the intimate sphere of the family to the broader stage of the workplace and public life. Through this series, the artist delves into the fluidity of identity and the ability of women to move between different realities, adapting and thriving in each.

Artistic Statement I paint large scale contemporary pieces, up to three meters, that combine Expressionism and Abstract Expressionism. Also my artworks are land or seascapes and figurative art. The mix of styles creates is a dialogue between interior emotions and the outside environment. I like to think that all my art comes from a place of optimism and a celebration of life. I believe that the art and objects that we surround ourselves with can motivate people and infuse our lives with positive energy. I have always maintained, and tell my art students, that good art requires steady and constant effort and practice, so I make sure I paint every day. I am also constantly looking for ways to add new elements, stylistically and conceptually, to my work.
