“My Cabin in the Woods in Winter” This painting is a wintery version of my previous 'Cabin in the Woods in Summer' painting. Whimsical painting featuring a snowy winter landscape, with a rustic log cabin nestled in the woods, surrounded by trees. Perfect for nature lovers and outdoors adventure lovers! For the snow around the cabin, I used a mix of white acrylic paint, modeling gel and a bit of glitter, to create texture with a soft glistening effect. A semi-abstract woodland landscape painted in a naive folksy style, in soft pastel colors – light blue, sky blue, baby blue, ice blue, light purple, lavender, lilac, turquoise, aqua, white, light gray, light beige. Dimensions: Artwork is 27 x 27 inches (68.6 x 68.6 cm) Plus an extra 2” (5 cm) white border all around, for ease of stretching/framing Orientation: Square Medium: Acrylic paint, modeling gel, glitter On unstretched cotton canvas primed with four coats of gesso Sealed with a coat of satin varnish for protection Signature on front Title, year and signature on back Comes with signed certificate of authenticity Shipped rolled and carefully packaged in a sturdy tube. Once upon a time, there was a creative little girl named Caro. She loved spending her time creating drawings, which she then sold for 5 cents or 10 cents to passers-by in front of her family house in Québec, Canada. She dreamed of being an artist when she grew up... Years later, the dream came true! I graduated in graphic design in 1999, and spent the following twelve years working as a graphic designer and art director. Then, finding that my work was not satisfying my thirst for creativity and my need for artistic freedom, I opened my own creative online shop in 2012. In 2023, in addition to my work as a self-employed surface designer and illustrator, I have taken up painting in order to professionally explore a passion that until recently had remained somewhat in the shadows of my other creative achievements. After a long period of exploration, my choice naturally turned towards acrylic on canvas, in an abstract expressionist style. I like to paint simple and repetitive shapes, in an intuitive approach, in order to find myself in an almost meditative state - I find freedom there, a creative letting go, I disconnect from everything, and my mind escapes. A color lover, I like to play with all the possible tones and shades imaginable. I create compositions where lines and dots come together in a colorful and happy dance for the eye that looks at them. Rather solitary by nature, I like to create in the quietness of my lakefront home studio in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc (QC, Canada), with my cat Cocotte by my side.
