About The Artwork

Embrace the Indigenous Creativity - Explore Aboriginal Art This painting has many layers of built-up acrylics with a high-quality varnish and painted sides. It comes with a wire stretched across the back, and the canvas on the backside is taped up with protective paper. Additionally, it includes a certificate of authenticity adhered to the back of the artwork. The wavy lines in the painting represent the water of the Warrigo River which is part of the Darling catchment within the Murray–Darling basin The circles symbolise a meeting place. The artwork is rich with meaning, reflecting both my family heritage and my life in the arts. Cunnamulla, Eulo, Thadgominda, and Charleville—all located in Southwestern Queensland are significant places in this piece. Cunnamulla, situated on the banks of the Warrego River, is part of the **Paroo Shire The name "Cunnamulla" means "long stretch of water" or "big waterhole" in the language of the **Kunja (Koun-yah)** people. The river itself, Warrego, has its origins below **Mount Ka Ka Mundi** in the Carnarvon Range near Tambo, Queensland. It flows generally southward for approximately 1,380 kilometers (860 miles) before reaching its confluence with the Darling River downstream from Bourke in New South Wales. The river descends 528 meters (1,732 feet) over its course and is joined by thirty-seven tributaries, including the Nive and Langlo Rivers. The Warrego River is characterized by highly variable rainfall and intermittent stream flows. It is an ephemeral river system, experiencing no flow periods that can extend for several months or even years during prolonged dry conditions. Aquatic and floodplain species in this region have adapted to high flow variability and 'boom and bust' cycles. Overall, my artwork beautifully captures both natural elements and cultural significance—a testament to your connection to your family heritage and artistic expression.
