Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Canvas and Wood.

This painting like most of my works is painted with an obsessive need to see how far I can push the aspect of materiality. The paint is applied in many ways including dribble, dots, stains and rubbing back over areas to bring back older layers and textures. I want more than the brush painted effect to suggest subject matter e.g using texture and light to bounce off the canvas to capture effects like sparkles on water or to suggest leaves... I really like seeing what effects are captured to keep the work original and alive, also keeping the painting process experimental, challenging and unique. I am always amazed at how versatile acrylic paint is, and I am often surprised when keeping materiality in the forefront of my mind how the artworks turn out. Most of my works change as the light moves and catches different areas.

* This painting has multilayers of acrylic paint on canvas making this work highly textural, finished with a quality varnish for a protective finish. The canvas is stretched over professionally made wooden stretcher bars, the painting is ready to hang.

*All paintings will be packed by the art packing professionals Pack and Send to their international standards.
