Nazca Whale Painting

This project evokes the mysteries of the Nazca Lines in Peru. In these paintings, I focused on giving life to some of the Nazca desert geoglyphs (Flower, hands, tree of life, and whale) and to present a reflection on their mystical construction, which has puzzled human kind for centuries. This artwork framework is illustrated in “Nazca Desert”, “Nazca Whale” and “Pensive Tree”. Using the desert as the figures’ stage, my paintings depict some of them already established on the ground while others fly around waiting to be settled down. My intention is to reflect on rhetorical considerations: who were the artists, how the geoglyphs were constructed, their true meaning and purpose, and reasons for their positioning. All questions we may never find an answer for.
