28 1/2 x 21" watercolor, acrylic, ink, and holographic glitter on paper This is an abstract painting on heavy weight cotton watercolor paper. It is the fourth in my New Dream Spaces series of abstract paintings with an ethereal, dream like, soft quality to them. This painting started out with a series of light watercolor washes. On top of this I applied layers of pigment based inks and acrylic paints. I employ wet on wet techniques and encourage the different media to interact with each other. There is just a bit of the holographic glitter in this one, sort of in the middle lower left. I'm not sure how successful it is in this application, this was one of the first times I tried using it on paper. This painting is on a 30 x 22" sheet of heavy watercolor paper. The second image shows the entire sheet, held by four magnets in the corners. It is unframed, and you can see about a half inch of brown kraft tape along the edges which I used to stretch the paper while I was painting on it (to keep it flat). It will be shipped flat in a special FedEx art box. You could frame it if you like, or hang it on your wall with thumbtacks in the corners, like a poster.
