NO NAME Painting

As human beings, we all sympathise with the suffering of others. I myself was heartbroken by the story of a girl who was abused physically and was forced to marry her abuser. Incapable of withstanding so much pain and suffering, she committed suicide trying to escape this despicable situation. How is it that in today’s world something like this could still happen? How is it that in front of so much injustice people are still not able to do anything ? As I was reflecting on all of this, I tried, as a cathartic experience, and in order to deal with the emotions that submerged me, to paint what this young women suffered, as the monster took her innocence and left her heart bleeding, until she had no other choice than to leave this world. But, despite all of the pain and suffering, this painting also contains hope, hope that situations like this one would not be repeated. Hope that change is always upon us.
