"The shock of emotions" is simply a meeting point between raw emotion and its conceptualization in different ways on each of the paintings on display. What I want to share from this experience is not just the process of dramatizing a feeling with improvised brushstrokes, but also the meaning that the facticity of emotions gives to existence and the way in which it impacts my own value system. Being aware of the profound effects of negative emotions for example (such as anger, jealousy, humiliation ...) that one generally seeks to deny or trivialize, is in itself a quest turned towards the other; a self-definition in relation to the other to whom I give permission, through the paintings on display, to make an incursion into the intimacy of my being, with the sole objective of a constantly renewed search for the human in each of us. To listen to one's own feelings in a painting workshop, with the only conviction that the shock of emotions can only be matched by a severely challenged spirit, such is the pleasure of creating that experience provided.
