No title Painting

These works compose a series of several black ink paintings. They are done without preparatory drawing, inspired by Hitsuzendo zen tradition of immediacy & directness. With this technique, there's no way to perpetually erase and redo, as when using a graphic software. There's no way back. You should go on, try to entirely merge with your doing, but at the same time accept your mistakes and limits. Everything is to be seen. Doing so, I explore this fragility of life, as we do everyday, drawing our lives with our imperfections. When I touch the paper with the brush, I can feel that very moment that flows in me like the ink meeting the paper, never the same, never to return. There, waves are running, dark and light, through the silence of the paper. This intimacy is to be lived, and there I dare to explore freedom, sexuality, differentiation. There is the zone where we do happen, where we can t hide. Where we are humans, as we are, trying our best to be ourselves in front of it all.
