About The Artwork
This started out as a colorful modern abstract slightly landscape like but I was not happy with it so decided to just paint over it with black. Then, as I was painting, I started to really like how a bit of color was peaking through the black. So got in the mood and started liking the texture of the paint so decided to go with it and started adding texture with things I had in the studio. Pretty happy with the result.

I was raised in a small rural town in north central North Dakota and was the fifth oldest in a family of seven children. Because I had artistic abilities, I was involved in many activities that required those skills. Everything from designing the high school mascot logo to painting sets for the drama department. Although I did paintings from an early age, I felt my direction should be graphic design. So as early as six years old, I knew I would have a career in graphic arts. My parents encouraged this direction even though we were very poor and they could not afford art school.
