About The Artwork

This artwork is made with acrylics, leaf metal, and transparent gloss varnish on a mirror. This piece is a reflection of my exploration into spiritual symbolism. The deer skull, the focal point of the artwork, holds deep meaning across various cultures and beliefs. It stands as a symbol of spirituality, renewal, balance, and the transition between the physical and spiritual realms–a gateway between life and death. The deer skull also embodies strength difficulties. In many cultures, deer skulls are regarded as sacred objects, often used in rituals to honor the spiritual connections they represent. Celtic mythology, in particular, associates deer skulls with wisdom, regeneration, and the spirit world. The Viking symbol Vegvísir is visible in the center of the deer horn. In Icelandic, the word Vegvisir means “way finder” or “signpost.” This widely used Viking emblem is believed to prevent people from getting lost and is said to provide protection and guidance. It is an original painting and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Camilla Debora Hus is an artist based in Norway whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally. The art she makes is mainly made up of acrylics, but often with a touch of other mediums. In her early days, her fascination with art began to grow stronger as time passed by. After feeling a need to express herself, she started to draw illustrations. She went to study Fine Art in London, and after that, she fell more and more into the abstract world. Her abstractions are inspired by nature, the universe, and the mystery of existence.
