About The Artwork

Medium: Acrylic on primed canvas Size: 85cm x 85cm "Old Town Bridge" is one in a series of paintings close to my heart, inspired by a town I live close to and visit almost daily. The drive to Old Ningo is surreal, with a drive that slopes slightly, just enough to give you a view of the bridge that enters the town, and the light-filled waters and canoes docked at their shores. The thick brush strokes reminiscent of the post-impressionists I used here capture the rocky beaches all around this part of Ghana's coastline. This charming town dates as far back as pre-colonial Gold Coast, and in this and other paintings in this series, I share with you how the settlement has or hasn't changed, and leave you to draw your own conclusions. This painting ships securely with layers of bubble wrap for protection and comes in its floater frame in a red-brown stained wood, ready to hang!

With a focus on open-impressionism/fauvism, I make art - so you can escape into a world filled with COLOR and experience joy. Over here in Ghana, West Africa, the ever changing social landscapes are an endless source of inspiration. I am inclined to offer an accurate representation of what is, and references for my work are not staged. Its my way of offering topics for discussion that delves into what currently is (our present state) and why we are the way we are. The larger part of my work involves teaching people the Bible, so I share resources I have with them, in hopes it helps to improve their lives. Over the years, I have seen many benefit from this work. When I get back to my studio, I recreate these precious shared moments with whatever I have available: acrylic, oils, pastels on cardstock or when I can afford it, canvas. You can look forward to seeing more of such, as well as behind the scenes pictures. Think of it as our shared travel diary! Enjoy!
