Part 1 of 4 of the large quadriptych "La fauvette des jardins" - an illustration of Olivier Messiaen's garden warbler from 1972. My 'Musical Transpaintings' come from the symphonic poetries of the 19th and 20th century. The series was started with paintings transcripting piano music of Arnold Schoenberg and his students Alban Berg and Anton Webern followed by Ravel's Daphnis et Cloé, Mendelsohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream and ballet music of Igor Strawinsky (Le sacre du printemps, Petrouchka, L'oiseau de feu) followed by Toru Takemitsu and Olivier Messiaen. The artwork is signed, dated and named with its RWV catalogue number on the reverse. The artwork is ready to hang, no frame necessary. The back view of the painting can be seen here when clicking on the detail photos: The reason for not showing any signatures or other information is to avoid copies, imitations or counterfeiting.
