This artwork is part of a project stylistically related to Medialismo, an artistic movement I experienced between the late '90s and the first decade of the 21st century. In this project, I investigated the similarities between two distant communities, the Amerindians and the Sardinians of Barbagia (the innermost wildest part of Sardinia), as I view both as ethnic minorities. The idea came to mind in 2005, after a trip to the US during which I visited the federal Indian reservations of Arizona and New Mexico. After viewing loads of film material and analog pictures related to both people, I started creating several artworks on the theme and this is one of them. In particular, the subject of this painting is a revisited analog frame from the movie "The Searchers". It's painted on a multilayered wooden board polished and prepared by myself. Ready to hang.

Who is Max Mazzoli?» «A happy guy, with his dark sides, who doesn't regret his past» [Quotation by an interview from 2018] Here is the link to a powerful documentary dedicated to Max Mazzoli in 2021, by the director Gabriele Peru, called "Quello strano incontro con la signora in rosso.
