Omen for the Voltara Painting

Five eons ago, a cosmic electromagnetic disturbance of immense proportions had rolled in on clouds from the East with chaotic consequences. And as the Sun rose this morning on a Voltara, the clouds were back... But seriously, the bird-tree, or Voltara, is a theme I used many times in my drawings. There's always been a symbiotic yet complementary connection between the birds and the trees. One has wings to fly and claws to anchor, and the other is anchored by the roots and has leaves that want to fly. And both need each other. Either to get rid of their insects or to find rest on a branch. On this painting, a Voltara sees, like an omen, the clouds coming… Not long after I finished this painting, my husband suddenly passed away.
