About The Artwork
In this diptych there are two spirals moving towards each other. The transition from orange to yellow hues creates the impression of fall in the Northeastern United States. I am fascinated with the Russian avant-garde movement that started at the beginning of the twentieth century and was an influential wave on modern western culture. One of the directions of this movement was constructivism, in which simple geometric forms created an illusion of dynamic movements. This diptych reflects a basic concept of constructivism.
