Initially it is the colours themselves that lead the way, providing the inspiration, followed very closely by the excitement of actually applying the paint. I hope that the viewer will feel a sense of immersion. I'm currently attracted to the Abstract Expressionistic style as it lends itself to different levels of energy and environmental influence. One can incorporate exterior and interior elements. The painting is being shipped rolled up to keep shipping costs down.

I am a recent MA Fine Art Graduate from WSA (Winchester School of Art) - Southampton University. My work was among those selected for the National Open Art Competition 2010, Chichester. Later that year I graduated from Winchester School of Art with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. Also that year I was fortunate to receive the Stephen Heffer Memorial Scholarship that enabled a continuation of study at MA level. In the studio space at The Sorting Office the viewer will find a visual documentation, collection of visual responses to the everyday interior of the self and surrounding environment. Underneath the surface there lies a preoccupation with time, being, the nature of materials, Phenomenology and Ontology and the relationship between philosophy and the visual arts. Each work regardless of the process or materials used is a reaction to a moment. Accompanying the interest in the above branch of philosophy are the writings of the following people: Yve Lomax, John Dewey "˜Art As Experience' and "˜The Way We Think', "˜Blurring of Art and Life' Alan Kaprow and Art Nothing? Analogies between art, science & philosophy By Fré Ilgen
